It is a very important group conscience because we will have elections. If you’ve never attended one, it’s a great opportunity to see how we put the traditions to work to continue to grow and maintain not only the hall but also the message through various outreach programs.

Alateen’s are having a chili supper fundraiser. Before the saturday night speaker meeting.
The North Oak Hall will be open starting at 10 am on the 22nd through 9 pm on the 23rd this November. We do this every year around the holidays because they can be some of the more trying times for those newly sober and with many years alike. To accomplish this we ask that people sign up for 2 hour time slots to make sure someone is there for the person that needs a meeting. The sign up sheet is on the wall in the coffee corner. This event will also be a potluck so please bring some food and enjoy the holidays sober.
Thank you to those who were able to attend The Group Conscience. The discussed topic was about changing the 8pm and the 6pm meetings to an earlier time. It was determined that the majority of people were not interested in adjusting the times and therefore it will not be going to a vote. This idea was put forth in the hopes of getting people with at least a year’s sobriety to attend the later night meeting. The 8pm meetings have seen a downturn in attendance of those members who the promises have started to come true for. As multiple members pointed to the 12th step it would be a great service to the newcomer if we could bolster the experience, strength, and hope at the 8pm.
North Oak is speaking at 4 PM on Dec. 31 at the liberty Alkathon.
As we all know, the holidays can be a trying time. Therefore, we will be open from 9am Dec. 24th through 9pm Dec. 25th and for New Year’s 9am Dec. 31st through 9pm Jan. 1st. Come join us for some holiday cheer and good sobriety.

The Happy Rock Alateen meeting that regularly meets at North Oak Group on Wednesdays at 7pm is now meeting at 6pm. Alateen is part of the Al-Anon fellowship designed for the younger relatives and friends of alcoholics through the teen years.
