There’s a lot coming up this year at the North Oak Group AA hall and we only have 4 months left of the year. Here’s what’s coming up this month and beyond:
SNL
Saturday Night Live (our open speaker meeting at 8 pm every Saturday night) continues to be a success! It’s now including AlAnon speakers at times which is very exciting! We are even going to start sharing one SNL meeting a month on the blog so stay tuned for that! Speakers include;
9/5: Katy S. (22 years), Genny (8 years) and Sarah (2 years)
9/12: Cliff (22 years) and Alan (2 years)
9/19: Samuel (30 years), Carolyn (15 years, AlAnon speaker) and Brandi J (1 year)
9/26: Cindy H. (9 years), Janell M (6 years) and Menno Y (3 years)
Don’t forget you can also receive your coin for 24 hours, 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 6 months, 9 months and any annual celebration.

OPEN SERVICE POSITIONS
Coming at the end of the year there are 11 open service positions. That’s right, ELEVEN!! So we need you!! In the Spirit of Rotation, the following Steering Committee positions are coming up on 2 year terms. Sign up on the backboard and please reach out to the current servant (listed below) to begin training now! Official nominations will be held at the December 12th Group Conscience. Unless otherwise stated, the position requires one year of sobriety to serve.
Alternate General Service Representative (Alt GSR) – The GSR and Alternate act as the liaisons between the North Oak group, District 3 and Area 39 – attends monthly District meetings in Liberty & quarterly Area meetings in Sedalia, learns and intends to roll into GSR position at term. Alternate Central Office Delegate (Alt CO) – The Alternate CO Delegate works with the CO Delegate as liaison between the North Oak Group and Central Office, learns and intends to roll into the CO Del position at term. In addition to the above requirements, Alt CO Del attends monthly CO meetings (2nd Sunday monthly). Sue H 913-461-3008 or Katie
Secretary – The Secretary performs administrative duties for North Oak Group including taking minutes at all Steering Committee and Group Conscience meetings, updating NOG Google drive & posting all NOG business documents. Terri D 816-225-6172
Newsletter – Create our hall’s monthly newsletter, with content determined at Steering Committee meetings, print and distribute copies to the hall. Interested? Terri D 816-225-6172
Email – Maintain NOG Email account, replies to incoming emails, and communicates relevant info to Chair & Steering Committee. Sean R 816-284-7779, Terri D 816-225-6172, or Lauren W 314-561-2784
Literature – Maintains our hall inventory of AA literature for sale, price list, and coins, purchases at Central Office. Aaron 816-560-8423
Coffee Supplies – Orders and maintains stock of all coffee and related supplies. Manages Coffee Funds Account and reports monthly to the Steering Committee. Continuous sobriety requirement for this position is 2 years. Rachel 816-695-1784
Hall Supplies – Purchases adequate hygiene & cleaning supplies needed for the group. Tracks purchases and provides reports to the Steering Committee. Brad H 816-806-8899
Maintenance – Maintenance and repairs on building interior and exterior. Coordinates with the Mug Club as needed. See Scott
Landscape – Maintains outside garden beds and flower pots seasonally stocked, watered, etc. Kat M 720-473-2291
Alternate Treatment/Corrections Coordinator – Assists and fills in for Treatment/Corrections Coordinator to communicate with and coordinate meetings & speakers into correctional and treatment facilities. Dave M 816365-8468 or Ben
LENDING LIBRARY
The Lending library is going strong! Check it out. It’s to the left of the podium on the bookcase behind the podium!! Copies to be loaned out include many grapevines and more!
FRIDAY GAME NIGHT
Enjoying Friday Game Nights or just enjoying playing games!? Come check it out on either 9/4 or 9/18. Game night leaders needed. Sign up on the back board! 9:30 pm -11 pm!
GROUP CONSCIOUS
The next Group Conscious meeting is Saturday, December 12 from noon to one with a potluck following the meeting. We will discuss the open positions, a proposed Higher Power Struggle Bus meeting added to the calendar (discussed here) and more.
